Hudson De Grugy in 13:25 Sandown Celebration Of Autumn Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase at (11/2)

Pic D’Orhy in 14:35 Sandown Future Stars Intermediate Chase at (5/4)

HUDSON DE GRUGY is an ex-French bumper winner who has also been prolific over hurdles for this yard, winning 4 times. He is a likeable type who should prove suited by the step up in trip on chase debut. Goes particularly well on softer ground, so he will be hoping for more rain as the day goes on. This 5 year old won 2m handicap hurdles in two of his four starts last season, one of which came at this meeting.

2 Hudson De Grugy 289

Age: 5 Weight: 11-8 Jockey: Jamie Moore Trainer: Gary Moore OR: 133

Form: /1616-

Goes well fresh and certainly brings bags of potential for his seasonal reappearance and one to keep an eye on over fences for the upcoming campaign.

PIC D’ORHY had a breathing problem reported when pulling up in the Manifesto Novices' Chase at Aintree in April and on the back of wind surgery, he outclassed 3 rivals on reappearance 3 weeks ago beating Kissesforkatie by 1 ¾ lengths. That runner up went on to win next time out so the form racks up. He is certainly the one to beat and there is every chance he will see out this new trip of 3m.

2 Pic D’orhy 22

Age: 7 Weight: 11-10 Jockey: Harry Cobden Trainer: Paul Nicholls OR: 155

Form: 131P-1

Has raced well on heavier ground over hurdles so that may help him here today with conditions looking to be somewhat of a stiff test. Trainer Paul Nicholls has a 24% strike rate with chasers running up to 3m and a strike rate of 22% in the early season. Jockey Harry Cobden is in red hot form which will only enhance Pic D’Orhy’s credentials today.
