Royal Ascot 2025 Day Five Tips

14:30 – Chesham Stakes (Listed)

The final day starts with the Chesham which is very difficult to have a strong opinion of with so little evidence on show.

I would prefer Treanmor to Moments Of Joy but the stable form doesn’t fill you with confidence to be going in at 5/4.

There are better bets throughout the card.

15:05 – Hardwicke Stakes (G2)

The market looks pretty spot on to me with REBEL’S ROMANCE clearly the one to beat and available at a fair price of 2/1, backed in from 5/2.

This globetrotting superstar is a seven time Group 1 winner and is in here without any penalties, with ground conditions perfect over his favourite trip.

I would have Ghostwriter a dubious stayer and I think Al Riffa has to find extra from somewhere to be beating Rebel’s Romance.

It’s hard to make a case for any of the others to beat him too and hopefully, if Treanmore hasn’t already, he will break Charlie Appleby’s rotten spell at Royal Ascot.

REBEL’S ROMANCE 2/1 2PT WIN

15:40 – Jubilee Stakes (G1)

I really hope we see a good performance here in a sprint division which is crying out for a superstar (maybe not as desperate as the 5f division mind!).

That big performance looks likely to come from an international raider though and it would be no surprise if Satono Reve is a cut above on good ground after his nice run behind Ka Ying Rising in Hong Kong.

The other one is Lazzat who was mighty impressive at Chantilly when dropped back to this trip – that was only a listed race, but he could do no more. He has a lot of back class and I think he is worth siding with, with potential for more improvement to come now being thoroughly trained as a sprinter. Wathnan must have spent heavy to get him and I think he mighr just repay some here.

LAZZAT 11/2 1PT EW

16:20 – Jersey Stakes (G3)

I have been very impressed by REMMOOZ in his successive victories at Doncaster.

It’s hard to say how much substance the form holds but he has looked very smart and I always mark up an Owen Burrows horse that wins on debut.

He could have gone for a handicap off a mark of 98 but I’m taking that they are running here as a huge positive for the confidence behind him.

You have to give Comanche Brave and Marvelman big chances, but I just have a feeling that Remmooz may be top level.

REMMOOZ 4/1 2PT WIN

17:00 – Wokingham Stakes (Heritage Handicap)

It is very obvious to see why More Thunder is a warm order for this handicap, he has looked transformed since dropping back to this trip when winning back to back races at Newmarket. He is 4/1 and has to be a big player at a track which should suit.

A horse that definitely suits this track is JARRAAF who looks rock solid at 11/2 with extra places widely available. He has form figures of 112 over course and distance, and the ground will certainly be no problem.

He returned as a warm order for a listed race at Salisbury this season but looked to need the run and that should put him spot on for this. He is still very unexposed and looks set to run a big race here.

JARRAAF 11/2 2PT EW

17:35 – Golden Gates Stakes (Handicap)

We see another warm favourite for a big field handicap here in the shape of SERAPH GABRIEL and it would be surprising if he is not better than a 95 rated horse.

He was a bit unlucky at Sandown last time out when the gaps just didn’t come until very late before flying home. The winner that day ran a respectable race in the Britannia earlier this week too so the form doesn’t look too shabby.

Beckett’s horse has stamina in the pedigree so the step up in trip should suit and he has to have a big chance of going in here at 11/4.

I am also willing to take a chance on TYCOON (another new AMO racing purchase), who runs in first time cheekpieces today. He travelled really well in the Cocked Hat stakes at Goodwood last month before being kicked out of the way by Amiloc and Sir Dinadan.

It looks a smart decision to drop him back in trip after that run and I thought he could outrun his odds. He has been clipped in from 25/1 into 16/1, probably after the Amiloc form boost, but I think that is still fair.

SERAPH GABRIEL 11/4 1PT WIN

TYCOON 16/1 0.5PT EW

18:10 – Queen Alexandra Stakes (Conditions Race)

This is a glorified boat race and this year’s renewal looks pretty desperate – if you need this to get out of jail, good luck.
