The market seems priced just about correct here to me with Al Aasy and King’s Gambit in as joint favourites at 5/2 and Sunway next in at 4/1.
On their best form, you can probably argue Sunway is overpriced but he should have won on his seasonal return – maybe he just needs some juice in the ground.
I wouldn’t put someone off having a few quid on the tri-cast in all honesty!

I thought that Ides Of March looked a very short price at 5/4 here against a whole host of horses who could easily improve. He is the highest rated horse on figures and did run well when runner up to Whistlejacket on his seasonal return – but there is something I’m not totally sold on.
I thought that SYMBOL OF HONOUR at anything 5/1 or bigger, looked a solid bet against the favourite. He was a pretty consistent horse as a 2yo, and he seemed to carry his form over when winning a pair of races in Dubai over the winter. That form, for what it’s worth, has been boosted over there in future races too.
I am happy to excuse his comeback run over 7f as I think sprinting will be his bag and hopefully he bounces back under Buick.

The London Gold Cup usually throws up some good horses, and despite there only being ten runners this year, I expect this to be the same.
Although a tricky betting proposition and many horses will be ahead of their mark, WAVE RIDER sticks out as well treated off 83. The stable won this race last year with King’s Gambit and this horse doesn’t have too dissimilar of a profile to him.
If you watch back his latest run at Wolverhampton, you’d be hard pressed to say he wasn’t the best horse – he made so much ground late, that surely the step up in trip is something he will relish today.

We have a stellar renewal of the Lockinge today and all being well, we still get the dead eight to go post.
In my opinion, you have to start with ROSALLION.
I believe he is the most talented horse in this race and his victories in the Irish 2000 Guineas and the St James’s Palace show that. On both occasions, he looked in trouble due to track position but his class got him out of trouble.
This is his first start of the season, but he will have done plenty and I have faith that Richard Hannon won’t have left a stone unturned. I will be backing him here and for Royal Ascot.
The main danger for me is certainly Dancing Gemini who has come back an improved horse this season, winning impressively at both Doncaster and Sandown – he is certainly a threat with fitness on side but I feel he may come up just short.
The fact you have a filly like Fallen Angel at 20/1 shows how deep this race is.
I can’t wait.
